About

I’m David Tragen and I have been a teacher and furniture maker for over 25 years. 

I started my career as an English teacher (TEFL) and as a hobby, would upcycle disused furniture found on the streets of Barcelona. I then supplemented my self taught skills with courses in woodcarving and marquetry as well as design and drawing.

Following two years of full time furniture making in Spain, I returned to the UK to do a year long fine furniture making course. I was then selected by Silver Lining Furniture to work as a cabinet maker and in 2004 set up my own business as a furniture designer maker. 

I worked part time for 3 years as a woodwork teacher for Start in Salford,  and  since 2014, I have been teaching students in my own workshop in Ashley, Cheshire.
